Apple Capital of Georgia

As you make the scenic drive from Burt’s Pumpkin Farm to Ellijay, you can’t help but be captivated by the abundance of apple picking farms lining the roadside. Ellijay proudly holds the title of the Apple Capital of Georgia, with apple season spanning from July to December. Be sure to visit esteemed orchards like B.J. Downtown Delights

Upon arriving in downtown Ellijay, our first stop was at Das Kaffee Haus for a cozy pistachio latte and a delectable blueberry scone. Energized and ready to explore, we ventured into Artful Ellijay: Home Provisions, a delightful store offering authentic mountain-style gifts and décor. Our next destination was The Trendy Leaf, a plant store boasting a diverse collection and knowledgeable staff. After a satisfying shopping spree, we indulged in the mouthwatering aromas emanating from Cantaberry and savored Southern-inspired cuisine at The Roof-Ellijay.

Mountain Valley Farm Store

Before heading back to Dawsonville, we made a pit stop at Mountain Valley Farm Store, a cherished Ellijay gem. Owned by the Wright family, this hidden treasure offers locally sourced meats, snacks, jams, and homemade goods. Don’t miss the opportunity to explore their farm “zoo” and enjoy panoramic mountain views while savoring delicious ice cream.

Sweet Treats and Apple Pies

No visit to Ellijay is complete without savoring the delectable flavors of fresh Ellijay apples. Be sure to stop by one of the many apple stands lining the roadside and indulge in an apple pie or apple doughnut – a true taste of Ellijay’s culinary delights.
