Johnny and Kathy Burt Honored at Best of Dawson Awards with Gordon Pirkle Heart of Dawson Award

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. This past Monday, our very own Johnny and Kathy Burt were honored with the prestigious Gordon Pirkle Heart of Dawson Award at the Best of Dawson award ceremony.

The Gordon Pirkle Heart of Dawson Award, established by the Dawson County News in 2021, pays tribute to local community pillars like Gordon Pirkle, whose unwavering dedication to our hometown and county is an inspiration to us all. Each year, this award is presented to an individual who embodies the spirit of giving and love for Dawson County, much like Mr. Pirkle himself.

Johnny and Kathy were chosen as this year's deserving recipients by the Pirkle family, who emphasized their lifelong commitment to our community. The connection between our families runs deep, with Johnny and Gordan's fathers having grown up together and their friendship spanning generations. It's clear that Johnny and Kathy's love for Dawson County and their tireless efforts to build a lasting legacy have left a mark on all who know them.

As Johnny and Kathy accepted this heartfelt recognition, they were overwhelmed with gratitude and emotion. With tears in his eyes, Johnny expressed his thanks to our friends and extended family who have been a part of the Burt's Pumpkin Farm journey. He also offered a heartfelt acknowledgment to our Lord, expressing deep gratitude for His blessings and guidance. Johnny's closing words, "Thank you all, thank you God, and God Bless Dawson County," encapsulated the essence of our shared community spirit.
